Chiikawa restaurant reservation: how the booking lottery works

For the Chiikawa movie collab cafe at Shinsaibashi PARCO, every seat must be booked in advance. The booking flow is in Japanese, and admission requires a digital ticket. That combination is where most fans living outside Japan give up.

This guide uses the Chiikawa movie collab cafe at THE GUEST CAFE BY PARCO Shinsaibashi in Osaka as our main example. The rules below are the ones that actually decide whether you get in.

What advance booking means for this cafe

Japanese collab cafes rarely take walk-ins. For this Osaka run, advance booking is required. You buy an admission ticket with a meal voucher before your visit. That ticket lets you join the queue at your booked time. Without one, there is no walk-in list to join.

Tickets are sold through Lawson Ticket (L-tike) on the dedicated cafe reservation site.

Sales run in two stages.

1. Presale lottery (pre-request). A random draw. You apply during the application window and find out later whether your entry was selected.
2. General sale. First-come. Once it opens, you check the site to see which time slots still have seats and take one.

For this run, the lottery stage came first. Aim for it. Winning a lottery slot fixes your date early, which means you can book flights around a confirmed booking instead of gambling on leftovers.

Application limits

1. One lead booker can request up to 4 seats in one application. A group of 5 or more needs a second lead booker with a separate application.
2. During the lottery stage, each person can apply once per week. If you are in Japan from June 1 to 7 and that span falls inside one calendar week, you get one shot at one day in it.
3. Each lottery application lets you rank up to three preferred entry times, say 12:00, 12:30, and 13:00 as first, second, and third choice.

Digital tickets: where overseas bookings get stuck

Admission accepts nothing but a digital ticket.

• You install the L-tike Denshi Ticket app on your phone and download the ticket into it before you arrive. Confirmation emails, payment receipt emails, and screenshots of the ticket are not valid for entry.
• After purchase you cannot change the date or time, and cancellations or refunds for personal reasons are not accepted.
• The same collab runs in Shibuya, Shinsaibashi, and Nagoya at the same time. Book the wrong venue and you are not admitted and not refunded. Check which run you are applying for before you pay.
• A lost ticket or a lost phone is never reissued, for any reason. Bring the exact phone that holds the ticket.

On top of the ticket price there are fees: a system usage fee and a digital ticket service fee. Paying at a convenience store or through carrier billing adds another fee on top.

How to actually get the digital ticket

1. Get a real Japanese mobile number first. Without one you cannot open a Lawson Web member account.
2. With a Lawson Web account you can apply to the lottery or buy in the general sale. During checkout the site asks for your Japanese mobile number, starting with 070, 080, or 090. If the number does not match, the ticket is never released to you.
3. Download the L-tike Denshi Ticket app from the Japanese App Store, and make sure your Japanese number passes the app's verification.
4. After your entry wins or your purchase goes through, wait for the official ticket-issuance date. Once issuance opens, the ticket can be delivered to the app when it connects to the internet and verifies the matching Japanese number.
5. Screenshots are worthless. Nothing gets reissued.

Do they check your identity at the door?

The Shinsaibashi announcement does not list an identity check, so we cannot tell you in advance what staff will ask for on the day. We are stating what the official page says, and we cannot guarantee admission decisions made at the venue.

How to get that Japanese number if you live overseas

We offer two routes:

1. We help you get your own SIM. The upside is that the same SIM then works for other Japanese lotteries, so one setup buys you long-term freedom to enter draws yourself. The downside is the ongoing cost of keeping the line alive.
